Application of JPEG and DjVu image files in a digitization project

	The paper compares features (quality, level of compression, resolution and size) of JPEG, the standard graphic format widely supported by both bitmap editors and browsers, and the DjVu format recently devoped by AT&T. The paper discusses possibilities of application of the latter technology in digization projects. The conclusions are based on the results of testing of images of different types of documents.
