Copyright and Licensing Contracts Related to Libraries
Martin Boháček, University of Economics in Prague
New Copyright Act (in force from 1.12.2000) is a very important for the activities of libraries in the Czech Republic. The Paper will
be focused on some aspects of its interpretation (in relation to the Draft Directive of European Parliament and Council on the
Copyright and Related Rights in the Information Society). The Paper will also deal with licensing contracts which are important in
the practice of libraries especially in relation to the newly established consortia of libraries. In the same time it tries to answer
from the Czech law point of view similar questions that are searched on European level by the EU Commission and association of
European libraries EBLIDA in the project called CELIP. On those questions will be focused the Paper which is written and will be
red by Ms Tuula Haavisto. That is why my Paper can also be deemed as a parallel paper to her paper at the conference.
