The event
INFORUM (hence called "Infomedia") started in
1995 as the main side-event of BookWorld,
the book fair in Prague, and was the first conference on professional
information resources in the Czech Republic. Since then, it has grown five times.
The event moved from Planetarium to the freshly opened New
Auditorium at the University of Economics in 1999. It also changed it's name
to INFORUM at the same time.
INFORUM 2001 attracted 565 participants from the Czech
Republic, Slovakia and abroad. They were presented with over 80 speeches and
presentations and 24 exhibitors at the accompanying exhibition.
INFORUM is the only event of it's kind in the Czech
Republic focused on the field of electronic information resources.

CONFERENCE PROGRAMME
The main conference programme takes place during
three days and is divided into topic-oriented sessions. Conference sessions
include invited papers by Czech and foreign speakers combined with company/product
presentations so that each session provide participants with overall overview of
the given topic.
INFORUM Workshops
The conference is accompanied by specialty workshops and side-events every year.
INFOMEJDAN - INFORUM PARTY
The INFORUM's social evening will take place in the historical Klementinum Palace - the seat of the Czech National Library - in
the evening of May 21. A concert in the Chappel of Mirrors is followed by a buffet reception on the Klementinum yard or
corridors (in case of rain).
INFORUM 2002 AWARDS
Since 1999 INFORUM AWARDS were awarded to the best local projects, products and services.
MiniEXHIBITION
For several years INFORUM is being complemented by a miniexhibition in the foyer of the New Auditorium.
Presenting companies include:

- providers of www services
- producers of library information software and other library-related products and services
- computer hardware & software suppliers
Press Conference
The INFORUM 2002 press conference will take place shortly before the
conference opening on May 21 at 10 am in the Club of the Library, University of
Economics.
Organizers
The main conference organizers are Albertina icome Praha s.r.o. and
University of Economics, Prague. Satellite
events are organized in collaboration with the National
Library of the Czech Republic (INFOMEJDAN social event) and SKIP -
Association of Library and Information Professionals of the Czech Republic (the workshop).
The conferemce programme is being prepared by a committee
composed from specialists in various areas covered at the conference.
