INFORUM AWARDS

The INFORUM 2003 Awards were awarded to the
most important Czech and Slovak products, services or acts related
to electronic information resources of a great importance to the Czech
and Slovak information community since January 2002. The awards
were announced at the INFOCONCERT festive evening in the Chapel of
Mirrors of the Klementinum Palace on May 28.

database of terminology of librarianship and information
science (TDKIV) - TDKIV is a unique and long time
awaited information resource of terminology, which was created
in the Czech National Library in 2001-2002 thanks to the
Ministry of Culture grant and with contributions by dozens of
collaborators. The database contains nearly 3000 articles incl.
explanations and English equivalent terms for selected
terminology in the filed of librarianship, information science
and related diciplines. The TDKIV will be updated in order to
keep pace with the terminology development.

news reporting of the Ikaros journal - A continuously
updated news stories are now published within the Ikaros
electronic journal, consisting of news in the field of
librarianship and information studies in the Czech Republic
and abroad (e,g. INFORUM - video broadcasting and live
reporting, the Week of the Libraries, March - the month of the
Internet, floods in 2002).

NOMINATIONS
Anyone could make a nomination to the INFORUM AWARD
via a www form (in Czech) until February 17th, 2002.
VOTING
Conference participants from the Czech Republic and
Slovakia voted for the nominated products
etc. on their conference applications. The most voted nominations will then be
awarded by the INFORUM 2003 Delegates Award. The deadline for voting is
the same as the registration deadline.
