Sightseeing Tours and Culture in Prague

Prague is one of the nicest cities in the world. The city offers to it’s visitors a lot of culture events and many historical places to see. You can explore Prague by foot with a map or use services of a Tourist Agency. We reccomend Prague Information Service http://www.pis.cz

Most popular sightseeings are Prague Castle, the Old Town and the Jewish Quarter, The Old-Town Hall with the Astronomical Clock (horologe), Lesser Town, Bethelem Chapel, Charles Bridge, Petrin Lookout and Labyrinth, Vysehrad. You can find basic info and pictures at http://www.pis.cz/a/prague/pama/pama.html

You can attend also theatres, cinemas, concerts and museums and galleries. For a programme look at http://www.pis.cz/a/culture/cult_menu.html

Other Useful Information about Prague and Czech Republic

At http://www.pis.cz/a/prague/aplan.html is available all necessary information you may need: important telephone numbers and addresses, international dialing codes, customs requirements and offices, postal services, currency, transport, medical care, embassies, tourist information services, etc.

Prague Public transport

There is a rich system of public transport in Prague. It combines three main types of transportation – subway (Metro), trams and buses. Metro is the best and fastest way how to reach the long-distance locations, trams and buses may be used to finalize the trip.

The price for a basic ticket is 20 CZK (about 0,7 Euro). You have to mark it when entering the Metro area, tram or bus. It is valid for 75 minutes (90 during weekends) from the timestamp and allows you to change the lines and transportation types at your will. Single ticket is sufficient for the whole trip in most cases (the only limit is the duration of your ride).

Do not care about transport zones. The whole Prague is in zone 0, so single-zone tickets are suitable for your needs. You can buy the tickets at most newspaper kiosks or coin machines available at bus/tram stations or by the Metro entrances.

Time-period tickets (for 1, 3 or 7 days) are sold at information centers located e.g. at the airport arrival hall, metro station Muzeum and Mustek. More information about the public transport is provided by the Prague public transport company.
