Abstract:

Information literacy courses have been taught since 2005 at the Faculty of Science and Faculty of Medicine at the Masaryk University and they are intended for these facultie‘s students of all study programmes. The courses are led by faculty librarians who make students acquainted with acquisition and working of scientific information possibilites – main themes are Czech union catalogues, working with electronic resources (basic multidomain and domain resources), creation of bibliographic references, working with reference manager and academic research evaluation). Because of growing interest of students in it since November 2007 to August 2008 there were prepared the materials for making multimedial aids. These aids have been imported into Masaryk University Information System that completely supports all e-learning applications (subject structure, posting study materials, tests, evaluation, complete student and teacher administration). In this article we present the courses genesis, Masaryk University Information System possibilites to put the accent on sharing our experiences that we had gotten during preparation and leadning the e-learning course.

He graduated in Czech language and literature - Civics from Faculty of Education, Masaryk University in Brno. In 2005-2007 he worked in the Central Library of Faculty of Science, Masaryk University, since 2007 he is working at the Masaryk University Campus Library Since 2005 he has cooperated in information education of students from Faculty of Science, since 2007 of students of Faculty of Medicine too. He is co-author of electronic book "Electronic databases of Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Science guide".
