Abstract:

“InfoLitGlobal”, an international information literacy resources directory, has been created by the Information Literacy Section of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) to record information literacy materials from different parts of the world, on behalf of UNESCO. The directory is available online at www.INFOLITGLOBAL.info. The directory includes information on IL communication, such as blogs, conferences and websites, information literacy products, details of relevant organisations, publications and documentation on training the trainer. The directory is browsable by category and country, searchable by keyword and has a listing of the most recent additions. Users who register will be able to upload their own resources to the directory. Librarians, educators and information professionals are invited to participate in this global cooperative project. There are information literacy outcomes that could be used as a model or guide for new information literacy actions in different parts of the world. Therefore a directory of internationally relevant tools can benefit the international community. At the moment, about 1.300 records on IL products, publications, organizations, educational materials and other IL resources are available online and free of charge for the user at www.INFOLITGLOBAL.info.
