Social media marketing is nowadays mostly a thing of the business realm which is capable to fully leverage it. Even non-commercial organizations and libraries are doing quite well in this environment. Many of them understand the significance and benefits of this environment.
However, social media aren't just another type of advertising channel, they're a very specific environment driven by the simple rule of „listening first, selling second“ (Dale Carnegie). Despite that, they're hard to grasp. Moreover they're changing rapidly. It's not easy to exploit this type of advertising and communication with your target group. It requires an ongoing learning effort, enthusiasm, hard work and openness. The Social media marketing submission should offer a general overview of the advertising possibilities of social media, current trends in this area and predictions for future.
