Abstract

Service design and innovation are topics that should be paid increasingly more attention. In a time when the library offers a wide spectrum of resources, electronic and traditional services, questions arise such as in what way users access them and if they are able to correctly use them. My paper is a presentation of a project prepared by TBU library in cooperation with professionals from the Seznam.cz company. User testing of library services is supposed to find out what first contact of a student with the library looks like, whether he's able to navigate basic library services and resources, how he manages not only with his first loan, but also searching in databases, what issues he encounters etc. On the grounds of this testing we'll be able to set up our services to prevent failure to meet user's needs. Testing preparation, progress and partial results will be presented.
