Abstract

Scientific and reseaerch users of special libraries need very fast and very precise information about new sources in library. Long-time cooperation between special library and its scientific and research users brings new possibilities for selective dissemination of information. Librarian, while processes new information source (book, artical, report of business trip and so on) notes name of the user or users, that are supposed to be interested in it, to the specific searching field. For Agrotest Fyto, Ltd. scientific staff we have special field “User” for this purpose. Further it continues in a service SDI working through the on-line cataloque of the library (OPAC KPWIN SQL). Each user has his or her own SDI profile connected with special field with the name/s of users. The results of searching are automatically mailing by e-mail with frequency that depends on users. It is also possible to set up completely new profile or more profiles for instance acording to key words.
