Abstract

The scope of NDK project is unique in the Czech Republic. Although its implementation was preceded by a long and thorough preparation the practice delivers insights that are essentially unique and unpredictable. The National Digital Library Department digitizes approximately 50,000 pages per day which amounts to an average of 700 books a week. It is de facto a production line that moves the National Library into issues that have been remote until now.
