Abstract

Libraries and librarians can consider usage stats only as „the other required administrative“ or understood them as a valuable source of information about users' behaviour and as a tool to improve their promotion and marketing.

This is an overview of the current types of statistics (particularly with focus on COUNTER standards), pointing to various practical examples how to use them.

Ladislav Svršek is graduated at the department of Library and Information Science at the Comenius University in Bratislava.

He helped to open offices of Albertina icome Bratislava in 1996 and he works there as manager until these days.

E-resources and related technologies are also a hobby of his.
