new name:

infomedia has grown to inforum! Through the past years we have already become the forum for exchange of information and experience about using electronic information products and media in practise - as opposed to being just a series of presentations on information media. Therefore we have decided to reflect this change in our name, too. So why won’t you become a part of the forum?
 

In 1998, we had over 350 registered participants from the Czech Republic and Slovakia, 42 speeches, 33 speakers and 12 exhibiting companies.

In 1999, we plan to have even more appeal to our target audience composed of librarians and decision-makers from

  • academic & university libraries
  • corporate libraries and strategic management
  • governmental libraries
  • information centres

new venue:

New Auditorium, University of Economics, Prague 3, W. Churchill square - entrance via courtyard to the new building.

Inforum Praha 1999 will be held in the New Auditorium at the University of Economics in Prague. This wonderful hall was opened for the first time in April 1998. It features the latest technology and equipment including of course video and computer display on 3 independent screens, full Internet connectivity and multi-channel audio which can be used for simultaneous translation. Its capacity is 420 people and the hall will be divided into 2 parts for 200 people each for the purpose of our specialty sessions. And we will be still just about 15 minutes from the Prague Exhibition Grounds and the BookWorld ´99 fair (May 20-23).

Will be held in the historical corridors of the Czech National Library in the baroque Klementinum palace on May 18th – an excellent opportunity for informal discussions and appointments.

Preliminary conference programme and participation options will be published by the end of February.
