The new trends in the employment the system CDS/ISIS.

Database and research system CDS/ISIS was created in UNESCO in 1985 as a non-commercial system for automatisation of smaller libraries. The system has undergone a great technological development during its existence. At present UNESCO maintains three fully compatible versions of the software. These are the most known version CDS/ISIS for operation system MS DOS, the version for UNIX and for Windows. The version for Windows offers new possibilities to the users. This version is fully compatible with system Windows and includes the hypertextual functions.
The internet access to the CDS/ISIS databases is the possibility very atractive for the institutions providing public services. There are lots of free software packages, distributed via internet, that assure internet access.
