„Dialog Consortium“ – online access to essential bibliographic databases for technical universities

Barbora Ramajzlová, Czech Technical University, Prague

The „Dialog Consortium“ was created as a result of the project supported with financial subvention of The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of Czech Republic. Its program LI – „Information sources for research and development“ funding aims to provide end users with an online access to most important information sources. The members of participating Czech technical universities have now a possibility to use valuable commercial bibliographic databases – Compendex, Iconda, Inspec and Metadex – via easy-to-use Dialog Corporation services. The paper describes „Dialog Consortium“ participants’ experience concerning the group license agreement, administrative and technical support of services, end users training, usage statistics and evaluation.
