Electronic Information Resources Today - and What About In the Future?

Introduction to some present problems concerning the use of fulltext databases and visions of future changes in social communication. Fulltext databases like global storehouses of general information. Main present problem: how to explain people that information skills are making efective use for them? Do we have control over IT or IT control us? Basic differences between information management and management of information technology. Seven dimensions of information literacy: tool literacy, resource literacy, social-structural literacy, research literacy, publishing literacy, emerging technology literacy, critical literacy. How do future virtual communication and virtual learning change character and exploatation of present large electronic fulltext databases? Changes in the role of information profesionals.
