Abstract

Many libraries today are requiring access to specialised and authoritative online information that meets the research needs of their users. The traditional large aggregations of online full text journals are becoming too broad in subject coverage to be of any use. Put simply, these libraries want to be able to choose their own information sources when they want to and when their users demand it. This paper will discuss how Thomson Gale now allows libraries to build their own personalised online collection or 'e-Library' using InfoTrac Custom Journals and our eBook platform - the Gale Virtual Reference Library (GVRL). With InfoTrac Custom Journals and GVRL, libraries can now choose the online journals that they want and combine this with authoritative reference content published by Thomson Gale. The journal and eBook content will be able to be searched simultaneously using Thomson Gale's new search interface - Powersearch.
