Fullfilling a Retrieval Request Using Multisource Searching

									Jana Hercová, National Medical Library

Financial resources of Ministry of Education of the Czech Republic from the programme "Information resources for science and
development" enabled the creation of new consortial access into a new spectrum of databases in the Czech Republic. It opened
									new
possibilities to use cross-database searching to complete a retrieval request. Apart from the traditional information
									sources
(MEDLINE, EMBASE, BMÈ) and Cochrane Library, new information resources can now be taken advantages of, e.g. Web of Science
(special topics, searching of the citation frequency of our authors), Biological Abstracts (interdisciplinary problems),
									databases
with full texts ProQuest 5000/PCI, EIFL Direct, Science@Direct and Springer Link. Specific requests can also be solved using
									the
STN International database centre. A comparison is made of the effects of these information sources emphasizing their
									specificity
