| THE CONFERENCE 
							The INFORUM conferenceis a unique event of its kind and
								scope in the whole Central and Eastern European region. It's main focus is the
								field of electronic information resources and their professional use. Among the
								main users of these information sources are not only information professionals
								and librarians, but also managers, researchers and developers, health
								professionals, professors and patrons, ICT specialists, government officers,
								lawyers, students and others.  New in 2003! The original territorial focus to the Czech Republic and
								Slovakia is being expanded to cover speakers and delegates from the whole
								Central and Eastern European region in 2003.
 THE HISTORYThe INFORUM (hence called "Infomedia") started in
								1995 as the main side-event of BookWorld,
								the book fair in Prague, and was the first conference on professional
								information resources in the Czech Republic. Since then, it has grown five times.
								The event moved from Planetarium to the freshly opened New Auditorium at the
								University of Economics in 1999. It also changed it's name
								to INFORUM at the same time.
 INFORUM 2001 565 participants from the Czech Republic,
								Slovakia and abroad. The INFORUM 2002
								attracted 579 registered participants.  They
								listened to over 60 speeches and presentations and visited 25 exhibition stands
								at the accompanying exhibition.
 MAIN PROGRAMMEThe main conference
								programme takes place during three days and is divided into topic-oriented
								sessions. Conference sessions include invited papers combined with company/product
								presentations so that each session provide participants with overall overview of
								the given topic.

								until approx. 4pm
 WORKSHOPS
								
							The conference is accompanied by specialty workshops and
								side-events every year.
 Workshops will take place on  Monday May 26.
 INFOCONCERT & INFOPARTY
							The
INFORUM's social evening which is co-organized by the Czech
								National Library will
take place in the historical Klementinum Palace - the seat of the Czech National
Library - in the evening of Wednesday May 28. The first part -
INFOCONCERT - will take place in the Chappel of Mirrors. It will be followed
with the INFOPARTY - a buffet reception on the Vine Courtyard of Klementinum or corridors (in case
of rain). For capacity reasons in the Chapel of Mirrors, the participations at
INFOCONCERT is limited to speakers, exhibitors and other invited VIP guests,
while the INFOPARTY will be also open to other INFORUM participants.
  INFORUM 2003 AWARDS
							Since
1999 INFORUM AWARDS were awarded to the best local
projects, products and services. The awards will be announced at the INFOPARTY.
							 EXHIBITIONFor several years INFORUM is being complemented by a miniexhibition
								in the foyer of the New Auditorium. Presenting companies include:

								 PRESS CONFERENCEThe INFORUM 2002 press conference will take place shortly
								before the conference opening on Tuesday May 27 at 9:30 am in the Club of the Library of

							The main conference organizers are Albertina
								icome Praha s.r.o. and University of Economics
								in Prague. The INFOPARTY evening is organized in collaboration with the National
								Library of the Czech Republic.
							 The conference programme is being prepared by a committee
								composed from specialists in various areas covered at the conference.
