Abstract: Phenomenons of learning organization and society based on knowledge, when an user needs fast and relevant information and knowledge. Networked communication (incl. roles Internet) and networked sharing of sources have changed information behaviour. That is thanks to development of information and communication technology, new generations of user interfaces, and also changes of information behaviour are approved. A new access to users and their needs, concepts of information services and concepts of information literacy and training are included, and of course the role of information institutions and libraries is under stressful factors
 
About the author: Richard Papik is the director of the Institute of Information Studies and Librarianship (Faculty of Arts, Charles University, Prague). He started his teaching process at this institute in 1994. Before 1994 he worked as the online retrieval specialist, reference services specialist, research specialist, and the head of the department of external databases. His main topics of the interest: online retrieval methods, online information services, cognitive aspects of information science, and also business oriented discipline - competitive intelligence and knowledge management. He likes and he is interested in projects and projects management.
