Abstract:

This contribution informs about contents of e-learning courses of cataloguing and a half of year experience with them. The courses for catalogues lead the charts of the most desired educational activities within last years. Librarians in libraries change, cataloguing rules and formats are updated and demands on records standardization are more and more strict. On that account the first e-learning courses of cataloguing were prepared with supported by VISK2. These courses should enable high-quality education economizing time and costs of adepts of cataloguing. And it is also important to increase a number of trained librarians and to apply a cataloguing policy in a uniform way that enables to improve a quality of databases and catalogues and to facilitate documents access. The method of asynchronous online e-learning was used and three ways of utilization offered:

  • a full distance study (with certificate and possibility of one-day training in the National Library of CR)
  • browsing courses
  • using courses as auxiliary materials for training in regional etc. libraries.
