Abstract

The paper presents results of the study conducted on the use of taxonomies in subject gateways. The goal of research was the analysis of methods and tools for information organization. The paper presents static and dynamic models of taxonomies as a tools for knowledge exploration and access to information. This includes qualitative and quantitative analysis of structure and usage of traditional indexing languages as a source for vocabularies and taxonomies framework.
