Abstract

This article is focused on a describing of supporting role of cloud technologies in the environment of academic library. Cloud improves the effectiveness of library workflow and also improves the quality of IT services, easiness of actualization and migration of digital data and also provides consistent environment for usage and backup of all libraries data.

Clouds represents whole network of services determined by constant exchange, sharing and actualization of data which are created on a daily basis in every library research activities.

Author's professional CV

Graduate of Comenius University in Bratislava. Rigorous thesis defended at Charles University in Prague, PhD Degree achieved in 2008. In academic environment since 1986.

Present Function: Head of Division of Knowledge Management. Head of project EU: Centre of knowledge management of intellectual property (2010–2012).
