Abstract

Among the research methods include posutp „on the desk“, which includes an analysis of publication trends topic. This method is currently neglected method, based on analyzes of processing a particular topic in scientific publications is based on the principles of search strategy and its use in research on the development of thought and opinions should not be already well acquired within undergraduate training. It is one of the solutions to the problem of the limits of primary research students, especially for theses. Electronic information resources, especially subject database for this method provides the most important source of high efficiency use. The lecture is the experience of the author in writing thesis Redefining the role of libraries in the 21st century. Teaching elementary procedures of this method is the training of the student.

Author's professional CV

Radka Římanová since 2007 at the Institute of Information Studies and Librarianship, Faculty of Arts, Charles University in Prague. Many years she worked for many yearsin the practical sphere of special libraries (Theatre Institute, the National Library of Medicine, National Technical Library) and she made ​​it possible preview of research in library and information science from the perspective of practical application, the application of teaching LIS students, but also other disciplines and academic research. One of her preferred methods for the analysis of data, including data mining logs, as one of the principle methods of evidence based librarianship.
