Abstract

The Institute of Information Studies and Librarianship at Charles University has been working closely with the practical sphere, and not just in student practices or theses topics, but especially in the context of student projects and elective courses. The condition of success is always involvement person of tutor who is dedicated to students.

This contribution brings specific insights and experiences from a survey among tutors. Students are significantly involved in documenting the history of the field (Database of Czech librarians), recognize the work of a large organization and marketing of library work (Municipal Library of Prague), trying on a particular operations in production (WebArchiv). Concrete experience has also brought a pilot teaching of the issue The Digital Curatorship, with the support of the Academy of Sciences.

Educator and secretary of the department, with a lifetime of experience in the field, chairman of the Czech Information Society, r.a.

Disciplinary interests are primarily managerial principles work in the library, librarian profession changes and finding a balance between theory and practice in undergraduate training information specialists and librarians. For perspective principles considered especially digital library services, value-added qualified staffing.
