Browsing Czech Web Archive

The initial information on project aimed at archiving of the Czech electronic resources published in the Internet network was presented at the INFORUM 2004 conference. In 2004, workshop was given on the topic of acquisition and archiving electronic Internet resources. After five year’s solution an access to part of the web archive has been made. This presentation will give some information on technical background, will make clear which part of archived resources is accessible recently and what can we expect concerning more possibilities in browsing digital archive (WebArchiv) in near future. Last part will describe application and development of technical solution (SW and HW implementation).

About the author

Jan Hutař works in National Library of the Czech Republic, Online Electronic Resources Department. He is involved in project of czech web archive from the beginnig of his activies in Library. Presently he is postgradual student of Information science at the Charles University, Prague.

Lukáš Matějka - student of informatics at the Masaryk University, Brno. He cooperates on technical solution of WebArchiv project from 2003.
