Abstract

Technological developments, strategic changes and the ever-increasing expectations of students have had a dramatic impact on libraries – and library staff – in recent years.

With the next generation library management system Alma and discovery service Primo or Summon, libraries have become more central to teaching and learning while optimizing staff time through automated workflows. In addition, the fully integrated course resource list solution Leganto. It makes it easy and engaging to create, access, and manage course resource lists. Instructors can build, maintain, and share resource lists that include all material types, librarians can provide resources more efficiently and scale up to support more courses, and students can access all course materials in one place and from any device. Leganto is helping lower the costs of course materials for both students and libraries by automatically identifying resources that are available through the library, alerting the library of materials that have been requested, and supporting pay-per-use copyright licensing.

Next level of empowering libraries is the end-to-end research services platform, Esploro, which will help unify workflows and bridge communication across multiple research stakeholders, including the library, the research office, and researchers themselves. Seamlessly integrated with existing research workflows, Esploro will enable institutions to capture research objects and enrich their metadata, unify and automate research data workflows, track publications, monitor compliance with government and funder requirements, and measure research impact through relevant KPIs and the analysis of cross-institutional benchmarks.
