Abstract

A shift in financing electronic information resources has enabled the National Library of Technology (NTK) to provide access to more than 19,000 electronic books. Overall, the value of accessible eBook collections—covering a wide spectrum of eBooks from Elsevier, Springer, Taylor & Francis, and Wiley—exceeds 15 million CZK.

Access to eBooks is provided not only for NTK patrons but also to universities and research institutions which are part of the CzechELib consortium. Collections are accessible via subscriptions to relevant publishers.

Electronic books are offered according to a model of subsequent selection of titles, meaning members of the consortium will select titles and these will subsequently remain in their collections for perpetuity. Various selection models will be discussed in the presentation.
