Abstrakt: As a result of the phenomenal rise in the use of the Internet, research on user acceptance of IT has grown rapidly in the last few years. Acceptance research focuses on elements relating to usage, system characteristics, and task oriented functions. The present paper analyses the factors influencing user acceptance of information systems and uses multivariate analysis to develop a technology acceptance model (TAM). The model was tested on a bank risk management system in a representative study on acceptance of information systems. The results reported are based on a response rate of 45% (542 replies). The end result proved to be a statistically significant model which was of direct practical relevance.
