Abstract:

The mass and durable change in the standard reading habits of a nation can only come to being with the principal innovation of its publishing market. No doubt, the number of interesting digitization projects has highly increased in the Czech Republic in several last years, often thanks to the international supporting programs. Unfortunately, the common lower attractiveness of the serious electronic text document among most of the population would probably stay by these new repositories unaffected. - Some successful, starting or financially uncertain concepts of the Czech official publishers to offer their products electronically and online will be presented, both the serials and the monographs; the Czech internet aggregators will be shown as fragmentary; the existing demand on the Czech speaking electronic sources, at least in the public libraries, will be illustrated; the growing abandonment of the offered secondary education matter on the behoof of the free accessible excerpts will be questioned, not regardless of the used languages.
